Members totamus Posted November 27, 2007 Members Posted November 27, 2007 A week or two ago, someone was asking for advice choosing an acoustic guitar that felt like an electric. One of the recommendations was the Crafter slim Archtop. I started looking at it and was impressed by the reviews and popularity in Europe. I stopped in to a local store today and I was very surprised to see that they stock the Crafter slim archtop. So sat down and played it for about 20 minutes through an acoustic amp. What an incredibly cool guitar! It has a piezo pickup (LR Baggs) and a lipstick pickup. You can use either pickup or blend them. Sounded as good as any of my acoustics do when I plug them in through my acoustic amp. Played very nicely (wimpy sound without an amp). I didnt buy it, but am gassing really bad. I have too many guitars now so I am thinking of selling my 1969 Guild F30. It is the guitar I play the least. I am extremely impressed. Crafter is a bargain!
Members Samilyn Posted November 27, 2007 Members Posted November 27, 2007 Good point there, Totamus. Why hang onto a git you seldom play? Let us know if you unload the F30 and cure your GAS.
Members totamus Posted November 28, 2007 Author Members Posted November 28, 2007 I just put it on craigslist an hour ago. I have already had a couple of calls, one guy says he wants to come out - but you never know what people are going to do. I put it on at $550
Members totamus Posted November 28, 2007 Author Members Posted November 28, 2007 well, the guild sold in about 2 hour Picking up the crafter tomorrow!
Members kwakatak Posted November 28, 2007 Members Posted November 28, 2007 Jeez, I've never heard of GAS getting on so easily. I need to take notes.
Members T.B. Posted November 28, 2007 Members Posted November 28, 2007 well, the guild sold in about 2 hour Picking up the crafter tomorrow! WTF? Damn ..... never mind.TrinaP.S. Oh, congrats on the Crafter, look forward to a review and maybe a pic.
Members Samilyn Posted November 28, 2007 Members Posted November 28, 2007 well, the guild sold in about 2 hour Picking up the crafter tomorrow! Wow! That was fast! Have fun with the Crafter. Fill us in more on how you like it after you've had a few hours on it. Ahhh.....nothing like almost-immediate GAS fulfillment. And I'll admit to being a bit jealous - still stuffing my piggy bank for my own GAS cure. I'm learning a thing or two or three about patience - not one of my virtues by any stretch of the imagination.

Crafter is a bargain! I've been telling people how good Crafter guitars are since I joined the forum. When I first played one a few years ago I was amazed at the quality and bought one straight away. I've played lots of different models since then and every one has been good. I hope that Crafter gives you loads of fun. Conrgatulations
Members totamus Posted November 28, 2007 Author Members Posted November 28, 2007 Just got back with the new Crafter slim archtop. Through my Crate Telluride it sounds as good as any acoustic/piezo I have used. I was lucky to sell the Guild so quickly. Now will be playing with the new git for the evening. Pics will come
Members OldGuitarPlayer Posted November 29, 2007 Members Posted November 29, 2007 Congrats on the new Guitar. I can't believe how quickly you cured that bout of GAS Those Crafters look really nice Peace
