Members totamus Posted November 29, 2007 Members Posted November 29, 2007 We recorded an instrumental a couple days ago and I would like feedback. There is Mandolin, Guitar and Bass. The Guitar is the old Yamaha I picked up a month or so ago.http://www.mediafire.com/?cgdixkgjmxt
Members OldGuitarPlayer Posted November 29, 2007 Members Posted November 29, 2007 Awesome!!!! Great recording and excellent playing from all three of you.You had my toe tappin' with my morning coffee. I really like the sound of your Yamaha. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Members garthman Posted November 29, 2007 Members Posted November 29, 2007 Great. You should send it to Freeman for inclusion in the Annex. BTW, let us know when you get that Crafter and photos please.
Members totamus Posted November 29, 2007 Author Members Posted November 29, 2007 Hey Garthman. Thanks for turning me on to Crafter. I picked the SA up yesterday and played for about 2 hours last night. It is a great guitar and a good addition to the "stable". I will post some pics later today.
Members kwakatak Posted November 29, 2007 Members Posted November 29, 2007 Sounds good. It's almost got a sort of gipsy vibe to it.
Members Broadus Posted November 29, 2007 Members Posted November 29, 2007 I enjoyed it much. I even left it on iTunes. Bill
Members Queequeg Posted November 29, 2007 Members Posted November 29, 2007 Loved it!Would be a great soundtrack. I see horses galloping away from the train robbery, as in a Butch & Sundance film.
Members MattSkibaIsGOD Posted November 29, 2007 Members Posted November 29, 2007 Great job. Very impressive and memorable melody too.

Me too! Lots of fun, totamus. Great sound from the guitar and mando, very well recorded. I can't really hear the bass. I think I can hear parts of it during the guitar solo(s). What kind of bass are we talking here? Ellen
Members totamus Posted November 29, 2007 Author Members Posted November 29, 2007 Hi Ellen, It is a standup 3/4 bass. It is actually a little heavy - you might be listening through your computers speakers? It is very pronounced through headphones...

It is very pronounced through headphones... I am listening through speakers, but I just figured out the issue. When I mix something that I've recorded, I turn the bass down on my computer's EQ to emulate what the average listener will hear. I just forgot to turn the bass back up last time. A little tweaking and another listen and I've got it loud and clear. Good work again, totamus! Ellen
