Members daklander Posted December 19, 2007 Members Posted December 19, 2007 Thanks for all your help gang. Daughter and I went and looked at that Ibanez PF 512 12 string. Low action, great neck. Much nicer than I anticipated. Very, very nice condition. Like new! She took it home. Her boyfriend better damn well be happy with this instrument.
Members Samilyn Posted December 19, 2007 Members Posted December 19, 2007 Very nice!! If the boyfriend doesn't like that one, he's got rocks in his head. And of course, Dak, how could she possibly go wrong with you there to check out the git and look after her? Great Dad.
Members Freeman Keller Posted December 19, 2007 Members Posted December 19, 2007 Sweet. We need a report on Christmas day.
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted December 20, 2007 Members Posted December 20, 2007 You should insist that if she breaks up w/ Romeo, the 12-er goes to Dear Old Dad... Ya gotta be practical about such things!
Members Broadus Posted December 20, 2007 Members Posted December 20, 2007 If he doesn't like it, tell you daughter to drop him quickly. You can't be too careful about protecting your daughter. I agree with TAH about the guitar going back to dad if there's a breakup! Bill
Members OldGuitarPlayer Posted December 20, 2007 Members Posted December 20, 2007 Very cool Mission accomplished!
Members ESL94 Posted December 20, 2007 Members Posted December 20, 2007 Sweet....not badThat's a great gift!
Members lauren Posted December 20, 2007 Members Posted December 20, 2007 so you will be teaching him over Christmas, what fun you will both have.
Members daklander Posted December 20, 2007 Author Members Posted December 20, 2007 Since we taught my daughter that a gift is a gift, I doubt there's any chance of it coming back to THIS family. Daniel already plays so I don't need to teach him. Though he primarily plays electric he does have an Ovation that he plays acoustically and has wanted a 12 string since he noodled with mine one day. He is also making noises about wanting an acoustic guitar that needs work so he can start to learn how to fix them. Maybe there's hope for him yet.
Members lauren Posted December 20, 2007 Members Posted December 20, 2007 you got yourdelf a BAND.:poke: Since we taught my daughter that a gift is a gift, I doubt there's any chance of it coming back to THIS family. Members Greg Bogoshian Posted December 20, 2007 Members Posted December 20, 2007 Very cool, Dak... the whole story!
Members daklander Posted December 20, 2007 Author Members Posted December 20, 2007 you got yourdelf a BAND.:poke: I don't know about that Lauren. I've done the band thing. If the mix is right, yeah, maybe....If not, no way. Since Dakota Night is essentially defunct with the other members not wanting to play out and one moving to the east coast I've been tossing around resurrecting it as a viable band. I've received the blessings of the original members, who are all great friends, but I don't know. Though as a solo act I have to carry the entire load, there is some good in having others carry some of the load.
