Hi there, everyone!

Just thought I'd take a moment out from wrapping presents, and all that other fun Christmas stuff to share a couple of pics I've taken of 4 of the guitars I bought this year.

From left to right:

Ibanez Artcore AS103 NT Custom: Very nice guitar, almost plays itself!

Hanika 54PC: solid cedar top, solid East Indian back and sides, ebony fretboard. This is the best nylon string guitar I've ever played.

Seagull S12: Cedar top, laminated cherry back and sides. This was my favourite 12 string out of about a dozen that I tried last summer. I had played a

More important than buying new guitars is learning to play better on the ones you own.

If I had to do it all over again and if I knew better, I might just stick with the F-65ce and forego the others.

I haven't bought any guitars since 2003 when I bought a Yamaha APX6na A/E nylon string.Great guitar. But it's in Louisiana.

(Guitars I bought in 2007 - a binge year - (below).

(From right: 1977 D-40 Guild, 1997 Guild F-65ce. Vietnamese hand-made Cedar Top, Indian Rosewood B&S jumbo cutaway, slothead,

+ an *ss-kicking archtop! f65ce_archtop.jpg

Best investments? American-made is #1 & #3. But two Vietnamese-made guitars are #2.

1. 1997 Guild F-65ce - no contest. Greatest guitar I've ever owned. It's a better guitar

than I had ever hoped to own.

2. Tie Jumbo Cutaway slothead (IR B&S/Cedar Top-Vietnamese. Unique sound.

Think Eagles' song "You're Lyin' Eyes". It's that silky on the strum).

2. *ss-kicking archtop w/Kent Armstrong humbucker, Mahogany B&S, Spruce top-Vietnamese. It kicks **s, what can I say?

Think Scotty Moore. Think whoever tou want. The archtop is a Gibson/Heritage killer).

3. Guild D-40. (US-made. The only real disappointment of the 4. It needs a setup & new saddle - bad.

It's very anemic sounding compared to the 3 listed above. But the action is extremely good. It plays like

a top-of the line Guild. It sounds like a Washburn or Alvarez.)

-Parkwood 340FM blonde jumbo
-Guild JF30-12 blonde (Corona)
-Washburn Rover
-Ukulele(a cheap one, don't know the name off hand, that I got for $20 at MF

-An assortment of percussion instruments I got for a song at last summer's WWBW blowout

-Will be taking delivery of an Epiphone 1963 AJ-45(cherry) reissue on December 27 :)

Come to think of it, I got my Martin D12X1 this year, just before I joined HCAG. Can't believe it's only been a few months - I feel like I've been bonded with this git for a lifetime. :)

I picked up two this year. First was my Martin 000-16GT with K & K Western Pure Mini and the second was my Takamine G320BL. I have an Artec Edge BT with mic and UST Piezo to stick in the G320BL.

This summer I bought a Walden G570TB.

It took me some time to come around to cedar/mahogany combo, but I love the sound of this guitar!
