Tried to pull it out an it splintered (on the Guild JF-30) Damnit. So I'm either going to get another one and try again or just give up. I'll hold onto it but I know I want a small body spruce over rosewood. Maybe around tax return time.

'bot, just got home and I've got a bunch of catching up to do, but can you super glue it back together, at least to use as a pattern for making another? I chipped a corner off one and was able to glue it back on.

As soon as I get slowed down I'll get back to you on this

Thanks FK, I already PM'd you. It won't be a quick fix, I'll need a new nut, I lost the splinters. I was still working on the action and then this. Poo.

Why did you try to remove the nut?

I was trying the poor man's approach to lowering it, I was going to sand the bottom just a hair.

Actually, that is a great idea if you don't own nut files. Unfortunately, it's easy to break a nut if it's glued in with super glue.

What a bummer, Whalebot.

I was once able to sand a nut that came out easily and it did wonders for the old git. That was only time that ever worked for me. Every other git I've had seems to have the nut glued in. And nope, I don't have a set of nut files, either.

And thanks Hud, I thoghut it was a good idea too, but alas it was glued too tightly...that's right my nut was stuck in a...OK. Samilyn I apologize! No more innuendoes!
