If you bought the guitar used please disregard my comments and go ahead and start drilling.
Members Samilyn Posted December 28, 2007 Members Posted December 28, 2007 Even if you bought it used, a reputable shop should warranty their work. But always best to make sure they're an authorized Martin repair center. Before you have the work done, make sure they'll have it repaired or replace it if they mess up. Get a copy of their repair warranty in writing. Alternatively, Martin makes a cool little button-strap gizmo that fastens around the headstock and has a button on the end of it for your git strap. I use a headstock-type strap because I get the willies about drilling a hole in my Martie.

Members mikesr1963 Posted December 30, 2007 Members Posted December 30, 2007 You have an expensive guitar with a good warranty. Take it and have it done by a Martin rep or sooner or later you'll reget it, that is unless you have money dripping out of your pockets.
Members Jessz1 Posted December 30, 2007 Members Posted December 30, 2007 I think it depends on your mentality. I do every setup / repair myself. I don't like other people pawing my guitars. If you do not have the skills... take it to a good shop with an outstanding reputation. Elderly, Gruhns....
