Lightnin' Hopkins is THE MAN ! He sure could lay down a shuffle.

You see how he treats his Gibson? Watch out!!!

 

In Sam Charters book about his experience recording Lightnin' Hopkins is priceless. Apparently after asking around all over Houston for Lightnin', a big convertable car pulls up to Charters on the street and and the man driving it is indeed Lightnin' and he tells Mr. Charters that yes, he'll let him record him but first Mr. Charters has to buy him a bottle of liquor!!!!

 

That is a REAL bluesman!
