Members rjoxyz Posted January 7, 2008 Members Posted January 7, 2008 I am now officially a "Senior Member"! That makes my hairline, beltline and impending AARP membership more palatable (not really--just a little rationaliation). Can't wait for the discount at the CyberCafe!.
Members hammergjh Posted January 7, 2008 Members Posted January 7, 2008 I may be AARP eligible but no way I'm joining!! I'm not ready to drive a damn Buick 10 mph under the speed limit just yet!
Members OldGuitarPlayer Posted January 7, 2008 Members Posted January 7, 2008 Congrats! Welcome to the club.

I turn 50 in a little under a year. I may join AARP for the discounts, but will save the Buick for later. AARP used to be for "R"etired People. Unfortunately, my potential retirement will come, if ever, long after my eligibility for AARP membership. They should change it to the Association for the Old and Middle Aged.
Members totamus Posted January 7, 2008 Members Posted January 7, 2008 Congrats. I am looking forward to joining you eventually! (wonder if there is a secret handshake?)

The best thing I ever did was turn 40 years old. Every year has just gotten better than the one before since then. No, seriously!
Members Samilyn Posted January 7, 2008 Members Posted January 7, 2008 Congrats! But so sorry, no AARP discounts given for top secret decoder ring.
Members rjoxyz Posted January 7, 2008 Author Members Posted January 7, 2008 Congrats! But so sorry, no AARP discounts given for top secret decoder ring. At the risk of regret and embarrassment, I believe this is one AARP eligible woman who has never driven a Buick 10 mph under the speed limit. In fact, I seem to remember a story about a screaming yellow coupe, catching the attention of a LEO as its exhaust note indicated redline approaching.
Members Scott Fonseca Posted January 7, 2008 Members Posted January 7, 2008 Congrats! Maybe someday I'll be up there too!

My first race car was a Buick Skylark. The ultimate sleeper for street racing - everybody thought it was my mom's grocery getter. 3. Yup - Borla woke up the lazy-a$$ed cop.

Easy now. I drag race Buicks. Although a couple of years ago at our National meet, the director said the average age of a Buick owner in the US was 66. But a few of us were out there ripping it up. Congrats to the OP I might make it this year.
Members hrcnsfan Posted January 7, 2008 Members Posted January 7, 2008 rationaliation Hmmm. I need to remember that one.......
