Members guitarist21 Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Crate-CA120DG-Durango-120W-Acoustic-Amp-with-DSP?sku=487788V For some reason its going for $300 as opposed to the $500 I think it normally goes for. If anyone's looking for a great acoustic amp, they should give this one a good look! Especially at this price. Ellen
Members Stackabones Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 I wonder how much it weighs? Not that I need one, but I just googled around for it and couldn't find it.
Members outdoorgb Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 That's a lot of amp for $300...120W:thu:Might make the coffee cups rattle on the ol' saucer... I wonder if the volume knob goes to 11?
Members AugTPD Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 Says it's a refurb so it probably carries either no warranty or something really short like 90 days. I'd bet that's the reason it's only $300.

I'd bet that's the reason it's only $300. Full Warranty applies.I know because I have this amp's little brother, which I also purchased as a refurb. Some minor cosmetic issues may be present. If you buy an amp, or sometimes even a guitar for that matter and then return it, it generally goes out after that as a refurb. Particularly with electronics and packaging, it is hard to resell it as "new".
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 Sweet! This is the amp Dobro wiz Jerry Douglas uses!
Members totamus Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 Jerry Douglas uses the Crate Telluride (Same amp, but with 2 8" speakers), but I have seen pics of him with the Durango as well. I played through a Durango a little while ago and really liked it. I have the Telluride and love it, but the Durango has better low end. It is a steal at that price...
Members missedmyexit Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 I have the 20W version of this amp and love it.
Members Vytas Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 I have the 60W amp. The 120W has the 12" speaker which creates problems getting accurate mids and not overblown bass tones. Same issue with bass amps. I have a bass amp with a 12" instead of a 15" for this purpose alone. Many complaints of poor tone is due to the whoofer being too large. The two 8" speaker amp by a previous poster sounds like a great amp. one 12 is not as great as it sounds. aimho

Members Scott Fonseca Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 I want one now....hmmm I think I have the money...
Members hrcnsfan Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 I was at GC a few weeks ago and played a T5 through one of those. The experience was..........well.........simply beautiful.
Members daklander Posted January 8, 2008 Members Posted January 8, 2008 I wonder how much it weighs? Not that I need one, but I just googled around for it and couldn't find it. They're 45 lbs. That's a refurbed unit price. The normal price is still $499.99.I've not had good luck with refurbed units so I don't know if I'd go for it though that Durango is one fine acoustic amp.
