Members naterz Posted December 9, 2007 Members Posted December 9, 2007 I shot 'em an e-mail a couple weeks ago asking if cases are included with the guitar..no reply. Strange, I hear their customer service is excellent. Guess I could try again... But for those of you who have ordered from there, can you tell me if the prices include a hardshell case and how you go about ordering? I see no order form on the website. thanks
Members Misha III Posted December 9, 2007 Members Posted December 9, 2007 Maybe they didn't receive your email??? (Maybe your email went into his junk email folder. It happens sometimes.) Try to contact Jason again. He is a nice guy. He should answer you quickly as he does usually! Good luck!
Members rjoxyz Posted December 9, 2007 Members Posted December 9, 2007 I am pretty sure all Larrivees ship with a Larrivee case.
Members Abando Posted December 9, 2007 Members Posted December 9, 2007 Yes, the hardshell case comes with the guitar, Naterz. Jason must have just missed your email. Abando
Members moctzal Posted December 9, 2007 Members Posted December 9, 2007 Yes, all Larrivees include hardcases. My buddy placed an order by phoning him.
Members S~R~O Posted December 9, 2007 Members Posted December 9, 2007 Jason is great to work with....and yes cases come with the guitars
Members JerseyGuy Posted December 9, 2007 Members Posted December 9, 2007 Great cases, too, about as nice as you can get without going custom. Good luck.
Members knockwood Posted December 9, 2007 Members Posted December 9, 2007 Notable is awesome. Maybe try giving them a call. I believe Jason's operation is largely Jason himself (the man is everywhere). Also, I think another forumite mentioned a while back that Jason is a reservist, which may account for the unreturned email - that or a simple glitch. Try again - it'll be worth it. Excellent prices and service.
Members Hudman Posted December 9, 2007 Members Posted December 9, 2007 There had to be a problem with the email. Jason carries a Blackberry phone. He answers email no matter where he goes. I bought a couple guitars from him. We did it all through email and I sent my payment through Paypal. He sets the guitar up to your playing preferences before shipping. Great guy to do business with.
Members naterz Posted December 9, 2007 Author Members Posted December 9, 2007 OK thanks a lot guys...I'll try calling, didn't even think about that. I'm looking at the L-03, but I hate the pickguard...wonder if it could be taken off easily (or replaced with clear) without it looking like a guitar that used to have a pickguard. Do you know how negotiable he is on prices? I have someone willing to match his price right now...

As far as the pick guard ....Yes they are removeable...and if you call Larrivee they probably send you a clear one if you want one... As far as pricing that you will have to talk to Jason about...
Members outdoorgb Posted January 18, 2008 Members Posted January 18, 2008 I just got off the phone with Jason at Notable Guitars...this will not be the last time I call him! And YES, a NGD is forthcoming...but you too will have to wait until the big brown truck of happiness shows up at my door to find out:thu: I can tell you Jason is an example of fine customer service both via email and phone. Patient, knowledgeable, and accommodating. This is not to say a local dealer in town is not, but Notable has some interesting, if not scary, low prices. I'll post more once all is completed, box acclimates, and is opened...I'm a patient man, I can take the wait:freak:

Can't wait to see your NGD post. Pics obligatory, mind you.

It came in yesterday and it is a great guitar and was packed really well. Jason set it up and the action is just right... no buzz, easy barre chords at first position. I got better service from notable guitars than I get at most guitars stores in town. Even when doing the automail pricelist I got a response from the man himself within about 5 minutes. naterz, did you get a Larrivee?
Members kwakatak Posted January 19, 2008 Members Posted January 19, 2008 Congrats, guys! Don't worry about no reply the first time around. I've emailed him in the past for his price lists and received no reply, but in the end it actually helped curb my GAS since I seem to be in a perpetual state of window shopping and not too much actual purchasing. BTW - I'd take advantage of the prices he has right now. Rumor is that Larrivee is raising their prices $150 this month, which will affect all the distributors. Check at www.larriveeforum.com (the unofficial Larrivee guitar users forum for news and discussions. BTW - they do come with cases. The 05 and up come with an archtop case and the 03 series comes with the plain 5-latch case, both are hardshell. There's nicer out there but they suit their purpose.
Members outdoorgb Posted January 19, 2008 Members Posted January 19, 2008 I was told at a Portland shop yesterday the prices are going up 10%. Again, I scored a great deal from Notable and will post the details next wee, BTW - Jason responded to several emails, even ones bounced by my work firewall, and phone calls. Simply great service, and the price sheet is shocking. But I already said that above.
