Members Steadfastly Posted January 26, 2008 Members Posted January 26, 2008 What's the best site to find quality, easy to understand, guitar tabs?
Members Samilyn Posted January 26, 2008 Members Posted January 26, 2008 The only one I've been to is Chordie.com. I find a pretty good selection tabs, chords and lyrics there. I can barely - just barely - read tab, so my opinion must be taken with a grain of salt, but what I've found there is reasonably accurate. A nice feature is that you can look up either song name or by a particular artist.
Members Raj Posted January 26, 2008 Members Posted January 26, 2008 911tabs.com has by far the best range of anything I've tried. Chordie... has a nice interface, but has a lower strike rate for accuracy- I wonder sometimes if people have ever heard the songs!
Members Harmonycat Posted January 26, 2008 Members Posted January 26, 2008 Chordie! Key transposition is a breeze! Often you will find a lyric line wrong or a wrong chord or two. This is to prevent any kind of lawsuit or prosecution regarding royalties. If you know the song, the intentional error is easy to fix. Cheers!

You're right - the reasoning behind the "errors" make sense and they are easily fixable.
Members JerseyGuy Posted January 26, 2008 Members Posted January 26, 2008 I have gotten a lot of good stuff off this site:http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ they have multiple versions of most songs. It appears most are just worked up by amateurs. You have to be a little careful, as some are WAY OFF the mark.

You can get the full tab (including solos and intros) or the chord versions. They also offer tab in 2 different downloaded versions (powertab and guitarpro). Word to the wise: Guitar tab (and sheet music) is one person's translation of a song. They may hear a part differently than you do or play it in a lower or higher key. Never trust another person's translation 100%. Use your ear and adjust the music accordingly. Your ear will never lead you wrong. Besides, it's impossible to play music with conviction if it doesn't sound right to you.
