Members jrigwald Posted December 21, 2007 Members Posted December 21, 2007 Does anyone out there have a BREEDLOVE ATLAS AJ250SF PLUS? I have seen alot of good reviews for Breedlove guitars, but I haven't seen a single review on this particular guitar. Can anyone give me a heads up?
Members ESL94 Posted January 1, 2008 Members Posted January 1, 2008 Welcome jrigwald, I have not played any of their jumbo's, yet. Yesterday I tryed a Breedlove Atlas Series AD25/SR Plus. Had a nice deep tone, low action able to flat pick & finger pick with no problem. I could make an assumption that the AJ250 would play the same but with a heavier bright tone w/the jumbo shape & the Spruce & Maple combination. IMO
Members larry50 Posted January 2, 2008 Members Posted January 2, 2008 I have an AD20/SR+. To the above I would say ditto. Great guitars for price.
Members Preachy Dad Posted January 24, 2008 Members Posted January 24, 2008 This is a wickedly great guitar. The sound is big and rings like a finely tuned piano. You can't do any better for the price!
Members Eppito Posted January 25, 2008 Members Posted January 25, 2008 Unless I'm mistaken, there are reviews of this guitar in the HC Acoustic Guitar reviews. I'm very curious about this instrument as well. I currently have a Seagull S12+, a cedar topped dread 12er - the AJ Breedlove, given the woods and size would be the Sagull's polar opposite. And the price point is great.
Members Eppito Posted January 25, 2008 Members Posted January 25, 2008 My main concern about the Atlas AJ is the pinless bridge, which means you can

Members scraglytoast Posted January 26, 2008 Members Posted January 26, 2008 I have one and it is great. It makes my Epiphone cheapy sound like a toy. I haven't plugged it in yet but I will tomorrow. Well worth the $$. The sound is awesome, nice and full. The range is very balanced and it feels good to hold. I love it. I dont like the fishman eq because the sticker/cover thing is crooked and it makes me feel like it is a cheaper accessory. It does have a tuner which is cool. Overall, I dig it. I'd but another if it was lost or stolen. Check one out.

Members John Bartus Posted January 26, 2008 Members Posted January 26, 2008 I own both the 6- and 12-string versions of this guitar, and have gigged with them regularly (3-5 nights a week) for the past couple of years. They are fantastic to play, they sound great, and they are simply stunning to look at. Their sound is well-rounded -- not too boomy and not at all shrill. I think it's a combination of the maple sides and back and the JLD Bridge Truss. I also have a Breedlove AD-25SR Plus, and it's one of the finest acoustics I've played anywhere at anytime. At gigs, I run the Breedloves through a Fishman Aura processor. I absolutely love the live tone I'm getting these days -- acoustic guitars that sound like acoustic guitars! It sure as hell beats the Ovation into board/DI sound that we all had to put up with in the late '70s. It truly is the Golden Age of amplified acoustic guitars. I think I'll keep playing!
