North American Guitar Makers

Outside of the Godin brands (Seagull, Art & Lutherie, Simon & Patrick, Godin, etc.), the really high-end stuff (Gibson, Taylor, Martin), and custom luthiers, are there any other guitar manufacturers that make their guitars in North America (not including Mexico)?

Not looking to buy or anything like that...just a curious question.

Well, Collings is considered a mid-size manufacturer (around 5,000 gits per year) and they are located in Texas. The USA Guild's used to be built in Tacoma, WA and I think they are now built in New Hartford CT. Larrivee makes their high end guitars (all their guitars above the O3 grade models) in Oxnard CA. Breedlove is located in Bend, OR, where they make their higher end models.

there are actually plenty of others at the upper end of the pricing continuum, which I deliberately didn't mention before.

SCGC

Collings

Huss & Dalton

and

Pantheon Guitars

and then of course you have all the boutique shops...

Here's a list of the ones in Canada. Some of them are small in terms of numbers but high on quality. I would bet there are many, many more in the USA since our population is about equal the state of California.

. . . Newfoundland

Garrison Guitars . . .

I don't think Garrison actually exists any longer as a brand. It was bought out by Gibson back in 2007 and AFAIK the brand is no longer produced, with the facilities now dedicated to production of Gibson's "Songmaker" line.

Zager lies about where they are built. Truth is, they're import guitars made in Indonesia and Zager claims that Denny does some scientific setup on them. Which I hardly believe that either.

I would never do business with a company like that.
