Members Jahan Honma Posted July 16, 2012 Members Posted July 16, 2012 I'm talking about the kind of letter that people subscribe to on your website to keep up on the news and events related to you/your music. But what would you put in there to make it interesting and what would go in there that you wouldn't put on the news page of your site? I find that I would rather not get any letters and just visit the site when I want to know what's going on. What do you think? Thank you very much for your help.
Members Jasco Posted July 27, 2012 Members Posted July 27, 2012 Try to write something different than most other bands newsletters. Most band newsletters fall into one of two categories: 1. Dry list of gig dates/venues. 2. An over-hyped account of the band's recent accomplishments and upcoming activities. So, make your band newsletter interesting and brief. Don't hype everyingthing or braggart about trivial events. Easier said than done though. Writing well is difficult. For me at least. Here a link to some of the band newsletters I've written over the years: www.thesymbols.net/symbolizm www.jascoguitar.com/jascosjive

I try to have a few new things that my subscribers can checkout for every email I send to my list.
