Members Watershed
My mate has a Mackie ONYX mixer with the firewire option. I'm wondering if there's a device that will convert the firewire tracks into ADAT so I can use it with the DIGI001/2? Anyone heard of such a unit? Members greendoor
I think it's called a com-poo-tah. Seriously, a PC that has both Firewire and an ADAT TOSlink soundcard could do this.
Members Watershed
Yeah, I thought of that. A lot of stuffing around though. Easier to get something like an RME 8 channel AD and use the Onyx direct outs. I pretty much knew I pissing into the wind with this..... but I had to ask
Phil O'Keefe
Yeah, I am sorry, but I'm unaware of anything that can convert from Firewire to ADAT optical easily and efficiently. You can do it via the computer, but that opens up latency issues and IMO, that would be quite a kludge. Now if it was mLan firewire, I would recommend something like a Yamaha i88X, which has mLan and ADAT optical on it, but I doubt that would be compatable with the Onyx's firewire.
