Members tool music
What would be one of the best guitars to use emg's in? LPESPEPI... I am trying to find a reall nice guitar that i can put emg 81, 85's in. I did the LP look but want to know your opinions, on what the best sounding guitar is that uses the emg pickups. Members chimairob
remember you can buy a guitar without emg's and put them in. so i doubt anybody knows 'the best' for emg's and besides thats probably a personal prefference. i tend to find that mahogany etc gives the best tone from emg's it thickens the sound, 81's can be a bit bright in alder etc.
Members tool music
That's is true... Well at least i know the better sounding wood, Mahogany. So I'm thinking a LP or ESP made of Mahogany would be the best choice. I guess i'm just trying to see if other people have used different guitars with EMG's and which one sounded the best. But everyone has a different ear so i just wanted to get some opinions because i will need some EMGs for the style i like to play.

Members Milkman1
I install EMGs in every guitar I use, including my Lap Steel. The type of wood doesn't change this for me.

Zakk wyldes tone on No more tears is one of the nastiest rock tones i've heard. deep, heavy, with a sizzling top end.
