Members Jason Poff
Hey guys, I'm curious if any of you have used these in the studio. I posted about possibly building one on the psw whatever works forum and the guys there so far are warning me about the box becoming highly resonant. That makes total sense, especially the closer to a cube shape you get. It's just that I have a bunch 703, 4'x8'x1/2" sheets of particle board, and a 15" jbl bass speaker burning a hole in my pocket. Has anybody had good experiences using a miked bass cabinet in a box? Thanks, Jason

Members where02190
I use a mic'd bass rig almost exclusively these days. 62' Ampeg B-15-N head, the (original with a replaced EV force 15" speaker) cab isolated off in a booth. I use a reamp box to run the recorded DI signal to the amp. I use dto record both when tracking, but stopped doing that awhile back, as I figured why waste tracking time dialing in an amp sound when I can do it casually when mixing. I record the mid'd speaker, then nudge it back a few ms to time align it with the DI, a critical step when combining DI and mic.
