Members ArrMatey
I've got a mix with some vocals that sound good but I want to add a bit of thickness to it. I've got the singer singing one part and then alternating with screams on another track. Now I know that a good reverb will do well but would there be any other ideas than eqing to add a bit of presence?I am just trying to see the possibilities as I don't have the chance to be in the studio (at school, sharing with other people). It would be for heavy rock/metal stuff. Thanks in advance.
Members where02190
Try a bit of pitch shift up 3 cents on one side, down 3 cents on the other, with 25-40ms of delay.
Members Kiwiburger
Try a slow stereo chorus. It's not too different from the pitch shift idea - a chorus is a modulated delay, so you get both a delay and a pitch shifting effect that slowly changes over time. If you are using PC VST, checkout Kjaerhus GMO-1 or their freebie Chorus. They can be sync'd to host tempo, so you can change over - say - 4 bars.
