Members keano
does anyone know what Lenny uses on his guitars to get that sound like on "Where are we runnin'", Dig In, and so on!!! Is it a Fuzz Box? Not typical distortion sound. Very retro.
Members Will Chen
I like a lot of the sounds he got on older albums, but some of his new stuff is a almost to the point of experimentation to question what a "good" guitar sound is. Sometimes on, sometimes not so much. Some of his stuff sounds direct, perhaps with a fuzz box and/or overdriving the console pre. If I remember correctly the tunes you mention have some type of fuzz/overdrive on the bass which adds some grit in the low mids. He used a bunch of vintage amps in the past. Some were even broken if I remember correctly in order to get crazy sounds, however Line 6 now has him as an endorsee... http://mixonline.com/mag/audio_flying_almost_solo/index.html http://www.line6.co.uk/artists/

Members EngineGuitarist
im not sure what album you are specifically referring to (if you even are) but Terry Manning did his album 5. and Mr. Manning happens to be a moderator over at www.prosoundweb.com in the REP forum called Whatever Works. I'm sure you could go there and ask him. ya gotta love the internet.
