Members flyguitar
Some kind of mahogany? Very hard red-colored wood, but I taught this is only for furniture. Wich guitar you have in mind?
Members Carati
You'll be hearing the word sapele a lot more - its the number one mahogany substitute, the supplies of which are getting close to depletion in good grades.

Members ajcoholic
I use it in my wood shop sometimes for furniture. Very nice wood, dense and takes a finish well. AJC
Members thredlok
I got a line on a enough sapele for a couple solid body blanks, but have no experience with as far as tone goes. I know it will look good finished has a nice mahogany-esque grain to it but I was hesitant to buy it with out knowing if it was going to sound like butt. from handling it and the tap tone I assume it will sound like mahogany but wanted some first hand experiences to validate my thoughts. Thanks:cool:
