Members pureanalog
I opened apart a Fender Standard Strat (Mexico) and I can see stamped in capital letters S Q U I (the last letter looks like an "I" though i am not 100% sure that it is an "I") Also a date April 1 1993 or smthng is stamped. Any ideas what the stamped letters mean?

Members pureanalog
this would not make sense. as the squires are made in asia. the dates in the pickguard seem to match the ones on the body.
Members Shellpink
Some Squiers were made in Mexico, too. Afaik it was around 1996, when the Squier- Produktion was moved exclusively to Asia. Might be a left-over body.

Members Steve Strat
Welcome to the community. There are many of us who have "93" MIM standard fenders with Squier stamped in the neck pocket. The consensus is that there was a fire in the Mexican factory and Fender shipped some bodies across the border to aid production. These bodies do not have the large flat bottom hole in the neck pocket which is found on MIM bodies. I believe Fender stamped Squier in the neck pockets to lower the import tax associated with importing American Fender bodies into Mexico. The tax would assessed by the value of the bodies which would be less if they were Squires
