Members rhythminmind
Do to my own curiosity I wanted to compare the differences in what URS EQ's i have at hand. Some of the results are surprising. The URS Strip is not what i thought it would be. I went about this test by boosting/cutting the same or close frequencies of pink noise with each EQ. Most of the files are +12 boosts unless otherwise noted. I also included Digidesigns EQ7 as something to gauge the other results to. This is by no means a good way to tell how musical or functional the EQ's are, BUT it is still fun none the less. (well fun for my inner geek at least) Download the processed .wav files (and Protools session) if you would like to checkout my results. http://www.rhythminmind.net/files/URS_EQ_test.zip http://www.rhythminmind.net/projects.html
Members TBush
Sounds like a plan- I'd be curious to see what your results are. Other engineer friends have encouraged me to A/B different EQ plug-ins, as they are not equal (Equal! Ha! Stupid pun...) and no doubt color the sound in various ways. I have A/B'd Waves EQ's (Ren and regular) with some Timeworks stuff, plus the EQ's in Logic, and it's interesting how I end up using different ones for different apps, as is similar with plug-in compressors.
