EJ Strat Serial Number

Greetings,

I picked up an Eric Johnson strat a few weeks ago. I was at the house of a friend of mine a few days ago who also purchased one, and while we were comparing, I noticed that the serial numbers were vastly different. We bought them at around the same time. His serial number was, I think, 000799. Mine is 013946. They haven't made 13 thousand of these already have they? Does this indicate different runs of the guitar? Just wondering about the discrepancy.

I was about to post the same question!! I am surprised no one responded. I just bought a 2005 EJ strat made in june 2005 and it's s/n in 14XXX range. 14,000 Eric Johnson strats made in the

first

6 months of production??? I doubt it. Something is weird with their system AGAIN! Anybody here have any answers? Good luck trying through Fender. I love the strat tho!

The sn on my EJ is 013962. Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I too was wondering the same thing.

I'm not really sure, I bought it in Feburary 06. Most likely an 05.

Hard to see any rhime or reason to the serial number system! Funny because you see people bidding way high on the lower s/n E/J strats on ebay.
