Basically its to go with my jbl control one monitors. i want to get a decent match. Phil O'Keefe Posted June 13, 2007 Share Posted June 13, 2007 I don't know what all the current offerings in power amps are out there, but basically you need a stereo amp that can put out at least 150W (or more) per channel at 4 ohms. Something like a Mackie M-800 or Alesis RA300 should do the trick, and hopefully come in under budget. I'm not sure what the prices on those brands are like in the UK, but in the USA, those would both sell for under $400. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Members Paully Posted June 13, 2007 Members Share Posted June 13, 2007 The general rule-of -thumb is to buy an amp that has an RMS rating of twice the speaker rating, so that it doesn't suffer from 'compression' on power-hungry passages.
