Members Smachimo the T
It could either be a vocoder, or just a straight up vst effect. I'm trying to find something that can do this and am failing in finding anything decent. OR can you all give me hints on how to use my fruity vocoder to get results I require, it's pathetic how I can't seem to find a sound that I like. Members mrbrown49
I'm in the "get it right during tracking" camp. Have you experimented with different micing techniques?

It's best to record a robot, probably with a Radio Shack mic. The ring modulator suggestion is also good, maybe with some not-so-subtle pitch correction effect. Members nerol1st
Well I was watching transformers (the animated series) on cartoon network and the evil robot guy who's name was something to do with sound definitely had a vocoder on the voice, it was running through a synth if you can get what I mean. If I get a chance I'll record something for you.
