Members kjp360
I asked this on the Recording forum but no takers, plus I have defined the question a little better so sorry for the redundancy. Is it possible for a single point TRS insert on my Tascam M-2600mkII to run at +4 when the board is set to run at +4? I was always under the impression that +4 lines were always balanced. I realize that balanced and nominal level are not the same thing, but I'm confused. I want to hook up my new Drawmer MX30 to a group insert and want to buy the right cabling, or make it. ThanksKen
Members Beck
+4 dBu is not always balanced... it depends on the device. Your manual should say in the specifications. The insert points of the M-2600mkII stay at -10 dB even when you switch to +4. Only the tape-in, direct and group outs switch to +4. You should use the -10 dB 1/4" jacks on the Drawmer. So your insert cables should be one TRS 1/4" plug split into two standard 1/4" plugs.
