Members Verne Andru
I did a quick search and came up empty. So here's the question - I'm transitioning my DAW from a stereo to surround setup. I'm using Cubase SX and have a Focusrite box that gives me the requisite 6 channels of output. What are my options for a 6 channel amp for monitoring and playback? I see Crown makes a couple and QSC has an 8 channel amp. Others worth looking into? Thanks. Phil O'Keefe
I'd personally stick with powered monitors and a powered sub. They've already "matched" the amp to the speakers.... If you're using passive monitoring, I'd just get two stereo amps and a third mono amp. Run the mono on the sub (get a somewhat beefier amp for that purpose - lows gobble headroom for lunch ) and use the two stereo amps for the front and rear speakers. I am not really aware of any multi-channel amps that are specifically designed for control room quality level surround sound - they're all "home theater" type units. Members Verne Andru
You know, I never even considered powered monitors. Since I already have a powered sub this should be much easier to assemble than I initially thought. Great suggestion - thanks.
