We tuned the drums real good, minimized problem frequencies and unnecessary resonance, then carefully selected mics and placements, then aggressive EQ in the analog domain before the A/D the kit is a stock Pearl Export, the snare is Joey Jordison, hats are mostly Sabian (13" aax hats, 16 pro sonix crash, ride) with one 18" Ziljian crash. 57 on snare top (el8x), i5 on snare bottomd12 inside kick, speaker mic kick outpeluso r14 pair for overhead (compressed via tfpro p38)MXL cheapo for room mic (compressed via drawmer) check it out! Were the toms only coming through the Peluso Overheads?? I thought they were really clear/full sounding with great stereo placement!
