Members Funkwave
Very strange, I'm running Sonar with a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 interface. Suddenly, when I want to select a channel for audio in on Sonar, I only have a choice of odd numbered channels. For example I click on "choose input channel" and the choices are Saffire chan 1,3,5,7,9 etc... Any ideas why this can happen? I have all channels selected in my audio device setup... Members mike.sartori
Maybe you have it set for stereo input? I know in logic recording a stereo track puts input 1-2 together, and 3-4 and so on.
Members WRGKMC
In sonar you can set it up either way. You can select 1&2 for a stereo track or you can selecteach track separately. The only reason sonar might not recognise the even channels is they werent recognizedby the program. Run the audio setup under audio settings. It should seek the Audio interfaces channel capibilityand make them available. Then you can go into audio properties and it will list all the input and output channels. Once you see them all there, you can go and select them for individual tracks.
Members Funkwave
Thanks for the advice guys. It will allow me to make a track stereo but only in track 1 itself since it won't recognize even numbers. A normal stereo take would be 1&2.. Audio setup shows that all tracks are chosen... very strange...
Members WRGKMC
Do some screen shots of what your settings are and post them. When I setup a track, I simply right click on the track in wave view. Then I select the channesl I want to use from the list. If it isnt listed, then theres some kind of setup problem. Heres an article on the unit. They said they had to reinstall the driver a second time. Maybe you hit the same glitch? http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan09/articles/focusritesaffirepro40.htm in any case read the interface manual and see if the Focusrite site has a help forym or EA section. If you're having the problem, its likely others had it too.
Members Funkwave
Thanks WRGKMC, Never hurts to reinstall a driver. If the problem persists I will post a screen shot but all it will show is a drop down of channels to choose for audio in and the choices will be Saffire 1,3,5,7,9, etc...
