Members okiebass
I can play/record all the instruments for my project except drums. I started taking lessons and realized it would be years before I was even close to a skill level to do my own percussion. If I hire a drummer, it will very likely be online. Two reasons. A) I live in an area with population insufficient to find a drummer who's a good choice for my peculiar ideas about writing//arranging. B) It's likely all the songs on this first CD wil use polyrhythms. Not in style of thrash rock or avante garde classical, but more like Afrobeat or jazz. You can see my dilemma. How should I search for someone, and negotiate cost? My budget is like most home recorders ... humble.

Members ido1957
Jason Jones at Art City Sound did some drums for me. Reasonable rate, great drums.
Members Paul.M.
Most drummers will be happy to record the drum parts of your tracks in their own studio for an affordable fee. You can easily collaborate over the internet. If the budget is a major concern you can also go with a virtual instrument like EZdrummer: http://www.toontrack.com/ezdrummerline.asp
Members sessionmike
I happen to own an online drum service (been in business since 2005) you can go to my website and hearsome samples and see my rates are very reasonable plus you can hear your song with my drums before paying anything. www.drumsnpercussion.com
Members Jes Johnson
I recently started using Logic Pro X, and it comes with its own virtual drummer program. I haven't been using it for very long, but it seems pretty easy to work with so far.
