Guitar is passive and the bass is active. Is there one box that can do it? With most ABY switches, when you use them to send the signal to two amps, you get a ground loop and lots of hum. Ideally, you want something with a isolation transformer to break that physical connection so you only have one path to ground on the audio lines. Radial makes a ABY switch that isn't too expensive called the Big Shot ABY that has a built-in iso transformer. There's a really informative video on that page I just linked to that explains a lot of the issues you run into when running two amps, and how to get around them. As far as Reamping, typically, you'd want to take ths signal direct and then Reamp that. Any decent DI box is fine for taking it direct. As far as Reamping, I use a Radial X-Amp, but they make several different boxes that can do Reamping. I recently reviewed the Radial Engineering EXTC, which is a 500-series module that is designed to let you use your effects pedals with your studio gear... and it can also serve as a DI, as well as a Reamping box. I'd recommend checking it out if you have a 500-series rack. Heck, even if you don't, it might be a good excuse to get one. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
