Members UsedToBeJES Posted August 16, 2005 Members Posted August 16, 2005 Hi All, I'm writing to see if anyone's found a really good sounding boom box (balanced sound, so lots of bass but not disproportionate; prefer to avoid "loudness" buttons and all that) that could fill a room with about 30-40 people in it with decent sound. Price is no object, but I am looking for an all-in-one CD-tape-AM/FM with aux input sort of thing. Back in 1999, I posed on SSS looking for a portable but good-sounding alternative to a regular boom box for teaching. People recommended the Cambridge Soundworks Model Twelve, which did indeed sound good. The thing about the Model Twelve is that it's a bit fussy in terms of setup. I've got a new job and a new account for this sort of thing, so I'm wondering if maybe there's a new unit of the maket worth checking out. Thanks in advance for your replies. --JES

Members UsedToBeJES Posted August 17, 2005 Author Members Posted August 17, 2005 Thanks. Was there a particular system you had in mind? I took a look at their site but didn't see anything that seemed portable like a boom box. Best,--JES
