Members LiveMusic Posted August 14, 2005 Members Posted August 14, 2005 A year ago, I used Jabber / Exodus. Is that still good? For now, just me and someone else. Is it compatible with other IM services? Or do you recommend something else. For Windows.

Members Lee Flier Posted August 15, 2005 Members Posted August 15, 2005 I use Gaim for Linux, under Windoze I use Trillian - it works with all the major IM networks and in general, I like the interface and features. Gaim will run under Windows, but I've always been fine with Trillian so never bothered installing Gaim... you can try it and compare though.
Members The Soundman Posted August 15, 2005 Members Posted August 15, 2005 I've been using Trillian for years... sometimes it gets a little bugged up when the IM services change their programming, but for simple text messaging, it works great. It runs all the IM services in a single window, so I can talk to people that have AIM, Yahoo, MSN, irc or whatever...
Members insidious meme Posted August 15, 2005 Members Posted August 15, 2005 I suggest Trillian as well. There's a free version with basic IM stuff, and the full bore paid version with alot of the bells and whistles included. Go with the free one first, of course...
Members LiveMusic Posted August 16, 2005 Author Members Posted August 16, 2005 I installed it but now what? What would I be connecting to? Is there a Trillian network? It has a couple of buttons, one for AIM and one for ICQ that you can 'make a connection.' But I am not on either of those and don't know that I want to be. But I gotta be on something.
