There is a nice fellow upstate NY named Fred Mc Niff (or similar spelling) who worked for Moog as one of the top dogs. He repaired my Taurus pedals a few years ago for a very small fee and has great knowledge of every synth that ever left there. I wonder if any of you guys have delt with him, He has tons of unique chips and parts that can't be found anywhere else, Paul.

Jeff is right, Bob had no real ego. It always frustrated me that he never seemed to sense the importance of what he did and give himself a good pat on the back...he was always looking for the NEXT thing, not thinking so much of what he did.

But I do think that in his later years, the extent of his contribution started to sink in on him. I didn't see it fueling his ego, but I think it added a sense of contentment...a recognition that by golly, he DID make a major difference in the world.

When I hosted the "Afternoon with Bob Moog" event at AES, he definitely felt the love, respect, and appreciation from the audience. I don't think he was as surprised by it as he would have been 10 years ago, he accepted it and bounced it right back at the crowd. And BTW that was the easiest hosting gig I ever had to do! I basically just introduced him, then sat back and enjoyed what he had to say.

Bob really was a great guy on so many levels.
