Interesting Read - Jaron Lanier

Finished up "You are not a Gadget" by Jaron Lanier a little while ago.

 

I think it's worth reading, it has some interesting ideas that are counter to a lot of the 'web 2.0' ideas. Now it cops to being a "Manifesto" right on the cover, so it's full of opinion and I'm not saying it's universally right or anything that'd be just drinking another flavor of cool-aid. But I do think it's a good counterpoint thing and he does lay out his ideas pretty clearly, so even if you don't agree with the ideas I recommend it. If all we read is stuff that we agree with or is easy to swallow then we are just "yes" men.
