Members bongfodder Posted August 29, 2005 Members Posted August 29, 2005 Originally posted by Soundastic Does Soundastic sound so super sacrilegiously simplistic in spanish...er...english?.....or WHAT? No it's just the ass thing that could be taken from that. I'm thinking a combo of sound fantastic?
Members Soundastic Posted August 29, 2005 Author Members Posted August 29, 2005 Correct. It shows I learned english from Discovery Channel.....
Members bongfodder Posted August 29, 2005 Members Posted August 29, 2005 Hey,are you really in Romania?I can't speak a word of Romanian. Stupid schools.
Members Soundastic Posted August 29, 2005 Author Members Posted August 29, 2005 There's a porn romanian channel. You could learn from that.If you like latin and old slavon, you would LOVE romanian.
Members bongfodder Posted August 29, 2005 Members Posted August 29, 2005 Yeah I can imagine that.I'd be trying to say hi and be like {censored} {censored} {censored} ooooh asshole. Oh,sorry can we swear over here? I do like latin at a distance, old slavon tends to throw me for a loop though. You play guitar?or something else?Let's see, soundastic=keys? It's okay I have a DSS1 gathering dust.
Members boosh Posted August 29, 2005 Members Posted August 29, 2005 Originally posted by Soundastic If you like old slavon, you would LOVE romanian. Cool I haven't talked old slavon in ages
Members Soundastic Posted August 29, 2005 Author Members Posted August 29, 2005 Indeed, soundastic=keys. And I used to have a long purple cape.
Members bongfodder Posted August 29, 2005 Members Posted August 29, 2005 I'm not getting the purple cape thing but I'm an idiot, ask anyone. The DSS1 is a great synth,it was taking to much time away from my guitar to mess with it. Out of the blue do you know what csound is? "we are chosen we are one"
Members Tedster Posted August 29, 2005 Members Posted August 29, 2005 Welcome Soundastic. I heard they had heavy rains and flooding in Romania recently. Hope everything has calmed down since.
Members Super 8 Posted August 29, 2005 Members Posted August 29, 2005 Welcome. Romania huh? You guys have your share of problems with vampires over there, don't cha?
Members UstadKhanAli Posted August 30, 2005 Members Posted August 30, 2005 Originally posted by bongfodder It's okay I have a DSS1 gathering dust. Oh, wow, I've got one of those also. It's in my garage. Geez, is that thing heavy. Welcome to Soundastic! Romania...you survived Ceausescu??? I've met two women from Romania so far, and both of them have been gorgeous. If that's any indication of who lives in Romania, you're one lucky guy!!
Members Soundastic Posted August 30, 2005 Author Members Posted August 30, 2005 bongfodder The purple cape was in my Rick Wakeman period. I'm way past that. If I remember right Csound is a sort of music programming language. I messed with it sometime in colege, but I'm not that smart. Super 8 My father is a music teacher and a vampire hunter hobbyist. My mother is a pharmacist. I am all of those. I live in Transylvania, and I killed my first vampire late, when I was 22. I am the shame of the family. Tedster The flooding was severe, and caused about 2 billion $ damage. That's quite a sum for us. Not to mention the 60 or so dead. UstadKhanAli Well, Ceausescu didn't survive me ;-) I was 12 when they shot him (a shady bussiness if you ask me). But I can tell you, those times were tough. We didn't have any television though (a pretty good thing I say), and that's how I got to read James Joyce as a teenager. "I've met two women from Romania so far, and both of them have been gorgeous. If that's any indication of who lives in Romania, you're one lucky guy!!" I will have to post a picture of my girlfriend sometimes, and you judge it:p

Phil O'Keefe Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Sergiu, it's good to have you with us! Welcome to the forum. By the way, we call people who read but don't post "lurkers", not "leechers".
Members Jotown Posted August 30, 2005 Members Posted August 30, 2005 Welcome Soundastic. Have a Muffin.

Members bongfodder Posted August 30, 2005 Members Posted August 30, 2005 UstadKhanAliIt does weigh a ton.I have to admit I took it apart and cleaned it last year, not much of a sampler but it has great filters. This guy has the manual and an archive of all the factory sounds: http://www.glenstegner.com/dss1/home.html Soundastic Sorry I didn't mean to sound pretentious,I just think Csound is a great program and sort of feel all alone in using it. It doesn't have to be complex once you learn the syntax.
Members Soundastic Posted August 31, 2005 Author Members Posted August 31, 2005 bongfodder, who said you sounded pretentious? I simply wasnt good at programing. Never REALLY tried to understand it, that's true
