i just showed up to work. i worked 25 hours this weekend. we are all tired.

BUT...

theres a note on the desk. next to the note is a photocopy of a reciept. this is a reciept for 4 30' mic cables, $72. my signature is on the bottom. i bought these cables on 7/05/05. i know this, because on the photocopy of the reciept with my name on it there is a date, 7/05/05. i turned in the reciept on 7/06/05.

I TURNED IN THE RECIEPT ON 7/06/05. this is important.

SO,

i did not photocopy this reciept. it was photocopied after i turned it in. someone else who had the reciept photocopied it. i did not. i had already turned it in. turned it in to somebody else who photocopied the reciept, because THEY had the reciept that i did not have because i had turned it in already, in fact i turned in the receipt on 7/06/05.

what does the note next to the recipt that i turned in, somebody else had and photocopied - say?

your not gonna beleive this....

the note next to the recipt with my signature on it that i turned in on 7/06/05 for a purchase i made on 7/05/05 says...

"do you know where this receipt is?"

am i the only one not grasping the lack of logic in this question?

i mean i cannot get over it.

WHY THE HECK WOULD I KNOW WHAT SOMEBODY ELSE DID WITH THE RECEIPT I TURNED IN ON 7/06/05?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

WELL?

Did the person in question sign the note? If so, I'd contact them and tell them I turned in the ORIGINAL reciept on the 6th... and that I have no idea who photocopied it or what happened to the original after I turned it in. Oh, and I'd make a copy of the copy (if you didn't already make / keep a copy of the original for your personal records) and then contact accounting about all of it. :)

Someone screwed up - but it wasn't you. I'd deal with it before someone starts thinking that it was you that screwed up. ;)

I have to admit it. I time jumped and stole the original from you, photo copied it and returned it to you before you lost it and claim to have turned it in.

I know that's true and so do you. It'll probably happen again because I left several copies around with different people.
