Members Rabid Posted August 31, 2005 Members Posted August 31, 2005 This is a good example of how well Apple has done with marketing. The thread could have been titled "Clever use for a MP3 player", or more appropriately, "Clever use for your portable CD player."

It seems that way. But the competition continues to move forward. Remember, Microsoft is behind WMA and there are lots of folks who have moved to this format for distributing audio. Just last week I was reading an article online about local (book) lending libraries that were engaged in the lending of audio books - in WMA format. In one instance, after a certain period of time, your license to listen to the audio file simply timed out and the 'book' was automatically returned to the library for others to check out. Yes, lots of people have iPods. Steve Jobs is lucky. The sale of iPods and iTunes has turned the company around. However, lots more people use Microsoft Windows + Windows Media Player. My hunch is that we'll continue to see growth in both camps. Tom
