Anybody know Fender?

Though I'm still a beginning guitarist, I'm an experienced writer (a former journliast and an active playwright with works staged across the U.S.), and I'm taking first, exploratory baby steps towards writing a book about guitar history. I wonder if any of you, over the years, had a chance to meet, talk to, or work with Leo Fender, or know somebody who might. And, of course, if you did, would you be willing to chat about it.
