Lets you bang a little harder with those power chords and drop-D chords. Not that hitting them any harder has any real effect.. In fact I have a pack sitting right here and it does indeed list Tool on the back as using those strings. It also lists them on the pack of standard 10's as well though, so as far as that goes..
