Members starrykitten Posted June 26, 2009 Members Posted June 26, 2009 I'm not sure whether this is kosher or not, but I didn't see another subforum for posting things like this, so I hope I'm not stepping on any toes. I'm a music journalist who's crossing over into doing music pr, writing bios/press releases/one-sheets etc. I'm doing this all one-on-one to keep it affordable and ensure really personalized service. I have a page that has some samples up at http://elmpublicity.blogspot.com or you can email me at erinlyndalmartin at gmail.com. Again, I'm sorry if it's not cool to promote oneself here--I'm just trying to reach musicians and thought this would be a good place.
Members slight-return Posted June 26, 2009 Members Posted June 26, 2009 kind of reminds me of the bit in caddy shack where Chevy Chase says over and over I'm not talking now, not talking, completely quiet another way to approach it would have been to PM a moderator :poke:
Members faileddrummer Posted June 26, 2009 Members Posted June 26, 2009 It's cool to promote if it's not a one post then leave.
Members starrykitten Posted June 26, 2009 Author Members Posted June 26, 2009 another way to approach it would have been to PM a moderator :poke: Sorry. *embarrassed* I actually didn't think of that.
Members starrykitten Posted June 26, 2009 Author Members Posted June 26, 2009 It's cool to promote if it's not a one post then leave. Gotcha. Thanks. I'll probably hang around this subforum, but I don't have much to contribute elsewhere, unfortunately.
Moderators daddymack Posted June 26, 2009 Moderators Posted June 26, 2009 another way to approach it would have been to PM a moderator :poke: Yeah, generally, that is true...athough many take the 'it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission' approach. starryk, Since this is a forum about the business of music, in all its' permutations and ancillary potentials, I cut a lot of slack to people who remain low key and don't spam. In this case, the TOS will permit this as long as you are up front but not pushy about it. I would suggest you put your link and an explanation of your services in your sig (you can do this in the user control panel). Feel free to ask questions...I'm here at least several times a week to do my janitorial duties and slip in a few snide comments... Resident (evil) Moderator, DM
