Members stellaguy Posted January 10, 2009 Members Posted January 10, 2009 in no particular order: pay backstage amenities sound system lighting stage layout dancefloor room capacity drink quaity food quality staff professionalism I'd agree with the majority of these. I'd also put in audience reaction - if your searching for a venue go and see someone else their playing beforehand, will certainly be an eyeopener.
Moderators daddymack Posted January 12, 2009 Moderators Posted January 12, 2009 Nice list. after 30+ years, it oughtto be
Members Booya Tribe Posted January 13, 2009 Members Posted January 13, 2009 sort of in order of importance: fair pay for bandscompetence/willingness to listen of sound staffsetup/layout/design/atmosphere of the place (ie: stage not too high, comfortable/fun for people to come to)acoustics of venue (ie: not a big echo-y concrete box)general attitude of staff
Members prevost82 Posted January 14, 2009 Members Posted January 14, 2009 is it well supported by locals
Members MattLivingInVan Posted January 25, 2009 Members Posted January 25, 2009 i think the biggest issue is reliability.its not so much the venue in general. its how they run it.the most irritating thing we deal with is shows starting late due to people not be prepared or not caring.then it cuts set times down. people end up waiting longer then they should.if doors say open at 6 30. they should open at 6 30.
