Members steve_man
So I was about to order a new Shubb capo, when the guy at Music123 said something about this one. Found out it was made by Fender. Looks cool, but is it really worth $40? Anyone have experience with them?
Members TehSuperFox
I have one and I like it a lot, but I got it as a gift. I probably wouldn't spend $40 myself on it because that seems like a lot for a capo, period.

YES. if you use a capo a LOT, it's worth the $$$. i have had them all, and this one is the current best one, and it rides in my gigbag always. Members TehSuperFox
Is it better than a $20 Shubb? Probably, but I'm not really the best person to ask anyway. I only use a capo once in a blue moon, but like the other guy said, if you use a capo often it's probably a good investment.
Members 59refin
I really like my G7th. For some reason I don't have as many intonation problems with it as I had with Kysers. If you think about it, a Kyser is just a metal clothespin. Take my advice with a grain of salt because I use capos maybe, uh, annually but the design on the G7th is pretty cool. That's why I want a new one. I hate having to retune after putting on my Kyser. YES, I know how to put one on, but it always pulls my strings out of tune. Members mondaymonkey
Well I usually steal one of these from school... along with a couple rubber bands. Does the trick pretty well.... I wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for a regular capo, maybe 10 for that one personally.
Members leopardstar
I'll stick with one of these I use this one also (but backwards from this)^^^never have had a tuning problem with them:thu: $
Members Bobby D
I asked Matt Umanov the same question -- "c'mon man, as that capo REALLY worth the $$$????" He just handed it to me and said "try it and you'll buy it" I did. Matt and his shop have NEVER steered me wrong in all the years I have been going there. It's the best capo I have ever had. Period. Less tuning problems, easier to use, and a VERY cool and functional design. And it's more expensive to manufacture than a kyser or a shubb. Members steve_man
Yeah, that's the new deal. Partial and multiple capos. Who knew? Man, there's nothing new about multiple and "chop" capos. I've been using a chop for at least 6 or 7 years. Had to make my own with a hacksaw! Capos strings 3,4, & 5. 6 is open, as are 1 & 2. You can do some pretty cool stuff, and it's even cooler sounding if you use another capo on the first or second fret, then putting the cut capo on the 3rd or 4th... Give it a try, pretty cool! I got a couple of Kysers I'll sell you...

Members slodge
I was a Kyser man for years and years until I invested in a G7. Best Capo I've ever used, period. It's a little pricey compared to other capos, but I use it all the time and it was well worth the investment.
Members csm
Is it better than a $20 Shubb? Yes. A friend of mine -- a fellow guitarist and fellow multi-Shubb user -- just bought one and brought it round the other day. I have different Shubbs for different guitars -- some for curved Fendery necks, some for flat necks -- and they're not interchangeable. The PW G7 worked on ALL my guitars. Ahmo buy a pair of 'em (cuz I GOTS to have a spare) this very afternoon, even though I'll probably need waders to go into town in this weather, because it's pissing down like a .... Members Unclemeat
Check out the Bird of Paradise Capo. There is a guy in my hometown who is a very respected classical guitarist who makes them. They are fantastic. http://www.birdcapo.com/home.html Jason
Members MisterTV
The hype on the G7 is for real. I have one and would never think of going back to a standard design. It's like the Dyson vaccuum of capos - (with British accent) "I just think things should work properly!"
Members KwadGuy
YES. This is the best Capo I've ever used. I have a bunch of them, and I've used a bunch more. No question: This is THE ONE. It's works great and it's really easy to use/reset. It also seems to hold the strings down properly on just about any neck I've tried with it, and I don't have tuning problems when using it. I paid about $20 for mine during the Music123 going out of business sale last year, but I'd IMMEDIATELY pay $40 to replace it if it were lost/stolen. Along with my strobe tuner, one of the two guitar accessories I eventually went first class on and--when I did--wondered why I would ever have used anything else.
