Members jazzywolf
Do you guys know how good is this guitar? It says "Hurricane by Moridaira" and is made in Japan. I got it for very cheap (as the guy was going to throw it out actually) but couldn't find much info about it.

Members Alex W
I found this in another forum: they were made by Morris Instruments in Japan in the 80's and there rare as {censored}, although they do come up on ebay once in a great while, and actually go pritty cheep, or have in the past, I don't think theres a set market value for them, there worth what someone willing to pay basically. Theres 2 Hurricane basses on there now, but I have a fealing there a bit more common.

Members spanishfly47.5
i don't know if it will make you feel better about it, but I'm pretty sure either Marty Friedman or Jason Becker(or both) used them for at least part of their time in Cacophony edit: yes. they both did. it says so on both their wikipedia entries(if you can trust those). Members Oldskool Texas
I had a Hurricane P-bass that I bought new in 1986. Good quality build, nothing special, but it more than adequately filled its purpose.
Members Steadfastly
I hear they're great in stormy weather!
Members King Loudness
Jason Becker used a couple of 'em. Decent guitars.
Members Ryan Trevisol
Looks like a real decent Japanese strat to me. I say keep it! Upgrade the pickups if necessary and get a fret dress for it, and you'll have yourself a real nice guitar.
Members Finch88
Yeah, Jason Becker used them back in the day. He liked them enough to come up with some signature model designs, even though they rejected his ideas.
Members zenbu
the one I sent my nephew as a project guitar didn`t say MIJ anywhere on it.
Members jazzywolf
Mine says "Made in Japan" in the back plate. One of the tuners is broken but other than that it is in great shape. The pickups are not bad. I will keep them for a while. Thanks! the one I sent my nephew as a project guitar didn`t say MIJ anywhere on it.
Members stanbog
that would be a Hurricane guitar. i say, if Jason Becker is willing to use it for an album cover, it surely isn't that bad
