Members Jarvey Posted October 6, 2008 Members Posted October 6, 2008 The Featured Artists' Coalition campaigns for the protection of performers' and musicians' rights. We want all artists to have more control of their music and a much fairer share of the profits it generates in the digital age. We speak with one voice to help artists strike a new bargain with record companies, digital distributors and others, and are campaigning for specific changes The site is brand new but I'd like to see grow. http://www.featuredartistscoalition.com/index.html Musicians who have joined so far -Billy BraggBoilerhouse BoysChrissie HyndeCraig DavidDavid GilmourGang of FourIron MaidenJazzie BJools HollandKaiser ChiefsKate NashKlaxonsRadioheadRichard AshcroftRobbie WilliamsSia FurlerSoul II SoulStephen DuffyThe CribsThe VerveTravisWet Wet WetWhite Lies
Members sabriel9v Posted October 7, 2008 Members Posted October 7, 2008 As an artist, what does it mean to me if I sign up for your organization?
Members Jarvey Posted October 7, 2008 Author Members Posted October 7, 2008 Sorry i didn't mean to post like it was mine I was in a hurry. I wish it was so I could say Iron Maiden and Radiohead is a member of my site. No I just thought it was cool bands getting together to stop the record industry taking advantage of musicians... (I hope this includes the RIAA)

(I hope this includes the RIAA) I checked the website and the organization's goals are nice, but rather lofty and idealistic. I read their mission statement and honestly it's not going to do much of anything for independent artists. Yes, we live in a digital age. But that digital age should not be meant to topple pre-existing markets.
