  1. They had a used one at GC a while back. It was a toploader with a very thin body and a pale white neck. Very cheap tuners. But it did play well. However, an SX would be miles better. Well, the one I am looking at is a semi hollow tele style with a bigsby style trem, perfect for a project I am currently in and it is hard to find those specs on something affordable, don't think SX fits the bill unfortunately.
  2. I bought one last year, one of the double necks on ebay (you know, the ones they claim are "rare" but are always for sale). I sold it a few months ago since I didn't like that the width at the nut of both necks was the same - made the 12-string side too hard to finger but other than that it played fine. Sounded OK. As far as looks, it looked something that someone made in their garage - less than "professional". The necks had no finish I could detect, not even a light satin. And they weren't fine-sanded, feeling rough. I spent 10 minutes with some 1200 and 2000 sand paper and smoothed them to a nice feel. Ok. I don't really mind putting a little effort into one for personal preference, change of pick ups etc.
  3. they look very cool. Price is good. Go ahead and try one out and report back...:poke: Yeah, I have one in mind, was just looking for a little feedback to sway my decision one way or the other.
  4. They seem to be fairly inexpensive, perhaps on the level of Douglas or perhaps a better SX. Anyone have/play one? Any comments regarding overall quality?

  6. Hmmmmm...don't see the prob either. pretty much looks like Dave always has.
  7. I could use a Boss bass overdrive pedal or something similar for reasonably cheap if anyone has one gathering dust. Thanks!
  8. I could be wrong but I think Lynch Mob might be touring with Dokken and thats why George was up there.
  9. I saw a photo of Malcolm with old Mesa Boogie 4x12 stacks with the wire front grills sitting behind him. Did AC/DC in fact use Mesa amps at one time during the early 80's and for how long? It must not have been for very long. I think the Donington 1991 dvd has a bunch of Mesas in it, for sure cabs, not sure about amps. I have also seen them use Wizard amps too. Maybe they were using the Wizard heads and Mesa cabs. ***edit*** Marshall cabs are in the Donington 91 show as well as the Mesas.
  10. I saw a video of AC/DC on You Tube from a mid 70's Australian T.V. show and Angus and Malcolm were both using Orange OR-120 "pics only" amps and 4 Orange 4x12 cabs each. It blew my mind because I thought they always used Marshalls. When I went to look for it later, the video had been removed. Yeah, I thought that was wierd too but have heard that all those Orange amps were supplied by the show....like all the artists that appeared would use them.
  11. My Model 88 is #148 - there used to be a website where someone was keeping track of these, but I think it's dead now Cool!
  12. Ah, another Model 88 man. Here's mine: Love the wood they used on these. Mine was a serious road warrior before I got it - the filled in black spot on the upper bout was a chip caused by a bullet! (The chainsaw case has the matching bullet hole) Cool! You don't see many of these. Mine is #300 of 1000. What is yours? I love the finish color on these. I got it in a trade for a crappy Peavey 4x12 cab.
