I wrote a poem for Sting and he used it in his song "I Can't Stop Thinking About You".
It's a true story that some find hard to believe! I'm not getting royalties, but I expected official attribution because
I'm a published poet but also a jazz pianist and tenor saxophonist/clarinetist and I also play chromatic harmonica.
Only recently, I've discovered that I have an intuitive talent when it comes to musical compositions. I wrote these, digitally on Linux in 2017: https://musescore.com/user/17153941/
If it's true that I can't sing and play guitar at the same time, I admit I don't think so, but some say I'm bad at both. This is why I'm beginning to despise the internet and computers. It's been four years of catatonic hell and constant babysitting, plus being robbed of my intellectual property, and then slandered as crazy afterwards for claiming this happened. I guess you could say I'm a little grumpy these days. It hurts, and isn't as fun as you think when the celebrity starts making you look like a crazy fool or a stalker for asking him not to plagiarize and let the world know he wasn't the only one to write the lyrics of that song. It's very disrespectful of him and I knew it in my mind's eye he would especially love the line, "I don't care if you exist" because Wikipedia is now also joining the effort to rub me out. You could say I've been wounded by the big money heads in the music industry. Seriously! I've gotten a ton of abuse from people about it too, and I don't need any more. I've managed to keep my self-love, because I know that I'm a great arranger for obscure pop/ jazz charts, but I also write originals too, I'm a good songwriter with good ideas and I also enjoy dancing and it enjoys me since I'm so musical. So, please, just get me out on the dance floor with your tunes and away from the internet. Peace be with you.
