Ok, well I went to clean the strings and give the fretboard a good cleaning, and i think this problem was pre-existing. I probably just didn't notice until I'd played a bit. When I went to clean the strings, the black didn't come off, and the underside of the string is very rough and jagged - definitely not safe to play on. I'm thinking some nasty strings were just installed at the factory.

So my Agile XV700 just arrived. I go play it for half an hour and now my fingers are black? What's the deal? Bad factory strings? Subquestion: Black spots seem to appear on the strings anywhere I bend or add vibrato. What's that about?
