  1. Amp-wise... Main guitar (don't really have decent pics of any of my guitars)...
  2. I don't think I've ever been a full on "metal head" or anything, although for a few years it was most of what I listened to. That said, I don't seem to like much of what's coming out these days, so aside from a few things that grab my fancy, I tend to listen more to stuff I listened to back when I got into metal. Outside of metal, I don't really care what genre it's under; if I like it, I'll listen to it. For example, now playing: [video=youtube;maB3CsuGe3U]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maB3CsuGe3U
  3. If Paypal only allows disputes for 45 days and then cuts you off then after 45 days if Paypal gets a chargeback they need to take it up with the credit card company. After 45 days you guys are out remember? Can't have it both ways. Exactly. You can't set a 45 day period within which disputes can be raised, but then fuck the seller outside of that period anyway. Plus, it wasn't just that they charged him, but also that even after providing the info that showed it had been delivered and that the buyer had received it and whatnot, they still didn't give a shit and just sent the collectors after him. Mind you, as Padoobies said, he just works for 'em. He doesn't necessarily agree with all their policies or ways of doing things.
  4. Wow, I honestly was not trying to take sides one way or the other. I was just trying to let eveyone know how PayPal makes their decisions (and where their rules are: User Agreement). I was just hoping to give some info so people could avoid issues. If you'd rather avoid issues by not using PayPal; that's totally cool too. Well it's all good to say this is how PP works... but then look at DiscoCat's situation above. Does that sound like standard operating procedure to you? It sounds like arse-fuckery to me.
  5. lol, when your argument fails, bag the poor kids gear very nice P.S I live elsewhere so i can't actually meet you. I'd like to but just for a laff;) P.S.S Someone said something about beer, and me being a teenager. teens go right up to 19, and in Australia the drinking age is 18, and i drink a fair bit, and not somepiece a {censored} budweiser, i drink real mans beer, coopers, Guiness, etc. Anyone else. i got 8minutes before i go to work Think you're a big man coz you drink a lot huh? Here's a bit of news for you... there's nothing cool about that at all. Nor is there anything cool about your bull{censored} attitude. So you're too far away to meet any of the other guys... how about a "fellow" Aussie then huh? You're slingin' {censored} at the wrong people at the wrong time. If this is all you have to contribute to this thread and this forum, kindly {censored} off.

  7. Originally posted by guitarslinger that's an s470 herman does play an s470, but I think his has an edge tremolo. I don't think his does actually. I was watching a video of him playing some shit, and I was confused as to why he was playing a guitar equipped with what looked suspiciously like a Lo-TRS. Considering how he uses it, how that thing isn't dead yet is beyond me.
  8. I'd probably say my Ibanez BTB405 bass. I don't think I've actually bought much guitar equipment this year. Which begs the question... where the {censored} is my money going then?
  9. Originally posted by typedeaF I have a friend that was a big Queensryche fan. The kind that searches for all the stuff he can about the band. He told me all this, and I believe him. Could be wrong. I personally have never seen an interview where Geoff said these things. In the interview on the Livecrime DVD, Geoff talks about how they found their Sister Mary, and it wasn't coz she was his teacher. And yes, Dave Mustaine is worse than Labrie.
  10. Originally posted by draelyc I heard that he sang opera professionally for a time, before Rock N Roll claimed him. Can anyone confirm? I've heard that too, but I've also heard it's rubbish. From what I've heard, he just took some vocal lessons in that style.
  11. Originally posted by Bob Savage It's interesting that you have Tate as your avatar. You're aware that Tate suffers from a weakened voice from age, and wandering notes during live performance like Labrie, right? If you're going to throw out Labrie as not being able to sing, you better throw Tate out with him. Tate was amazing back in the day, in the studio and on the stage. Labrie was good in the studio, but live he was all over the place. While Labrie whined and wailed off pitch, Tate was all over the stage nailing every note. I still think Tate's a good singer. QR is bollocks now, but I think he's still a great singer. No he can't get to a lot of the high notes he used to, but then, his range has been quite clearly changing since maybe Empire or so. Happens to vocalists, or even just people in general, as they get older. I remember an interview with Tom Jones just a few years ago where he talked about how he's lost a couple of notes off the top of his range, but he's gained even more lower reach. Listen to the stuff on Promised Land. Tate knows he doesn't have those crazy high notes in his ability anymore, so he adapts and works with his deeper register as well. These days he changes how he sings songs like Take Hold of the Flame, coz he knows he just can't do it anymore. Back in the day though... Labrie on the other hand, was just never that good live. He's atrocious now, but listen back to Live at the Marquee. That's before the food poisoning incident, and his singing isn't that amazing there. It's far better than what he manages these days, and he clearly hits the high notes easier, but his pitch accuracy just isn't there. The rest of the band were pretty damn good, but Labrie was quite average IMO. Still, Live at Budokan is an absolute joke. He spends pretty much the whole show off pitch. I'd listen to Marquee and simultaneously shove the DVD cover of LaB up my dick hole if it guaranteed I'd never have to see/hear LaB again. It always puzzles me why Labrie feels the need to sing with his tongue sticking out of his mouth. Try talking like that... no wonder you can't understand a word he's singing. I can't even remember what I'm on about now... Ooh, lastly though... I don't have Tate as my avatar coz I think he's a god or anything, although he is one of my favourite singers. I just found that promo QR pic amusing, and Tate looked the silliest of all of them.
  12. Originally posted by thegame Well that's not exactly true. They have so many long instrumental breaks in all the songs that there's lots of time to rest between vocal parts. +1 The "3 hour concert" stuff is a bit of bollocks, considering half the time he's not even on the stage, or he's just standing there tambourining like a madman.
  13. Originally posted by Burn Nightfall in Middle Earth is a masterpiece. They haven't since put anything out that's remotely as good though They've only put out one album since NIME. Still, I agree. NIME is a masterpiece, and I really doubt BG will manage to top it.
  14. Originally posted by Burn I agree. I don't understand the comments about his range either, f he does have it, I haven't heard it yet. I'm no singer and I can hit 2 octaves + 4-5 notes (excluding falsetto). I don't think that's anything special. (Listen to Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian freakish, that guy...) BTW, Hansi rules. He's not perfect pitch-wise either, but he's a damn lot better than Labrie is. What I love abot Hansi's singing though, is how he's improved so much over the years. He was pretty bollocks in the beginning, but now he's one of the top metal vocalists around, with a very distinct, recognisable voice of his own.
