  3. Thanks for all of the great feedback! Yes, I'm very lucky to have married such a great women who doesn't mind living simply. We've been together for over 10 years now and looking back there is no doubt in my mind that I picked the right person to share my life with. This transition might be difficult at first, but hopefully things will turn out for the best in the long run. When I lived in Boston during college I loved the fact that I could get around town on foot or mass transit without the need for a car. We'll still keep one car to get around town. My commute to work will literally be a 3 minute walk across the street!
  4. I recently took a two week trip to Europe with my wife and had the opportunity of visiting Belgium, Holland and Italy. This was my second trip to Europe and the first for my wife. The trip was nothing short of amazing and in fact was life changing. Upon our return I realized how everything is so much bigger here at home. The roads, houses, cars, people, you name it is bigger. I currently live in the suburbs of Portland in a 3 bedroom, 1300 sq ft house. I have an entire bedroom dedicated to my office/project studio, which is nice to have. But besides my bedroom and office, the rest of the space is mainly used for storing junk that I hardly use. For the last six months or so I

  7. Both laptops are OK. However, I'm not a big fan of most consumer laptops as a general rule. I support hundreds of laptops from several companies including Dell, HP, Compaq, and IBM and I wouldn't even consider buying *any* notebook without a 3-year manufacturers warranty. Even if you take very good care of a laptop the parts are prone to failure, especially hard drives. Don't ask me how much the company I work for has spent on sending in dead laptop drives to OnTrack for recovery . I personally like HP Business Notebooks, as they come stock with a 3-year manufacturer warranty, XP Pro, Centrino or Turion CPU's, and a very light build with hardly any applications preinstalled. Check out the nc6230 if you really want a nice system. The graphics are dedicated, unlike most budget PC's and it's lightweight and fast. I use a nc6220 for work and it's great. The main drawback compared to the nc6230 is that my video card is shared, meaning that the system processor and RAM handle the video tasks.

  10. As far as easy chords go I usually start off with Em7 (just one finger required), GMaj6 (just like a G but without the G on the 1st string), CMaj7, Am7, etc. Most of the 7th chords work well since you are usually taking something away. Of course, all of the beginner books start off with full major and minor chords, which are more difficult to play.
